Janet L. Thompson

CLINTON — Janet L. Thompson, 68, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, November 19th, at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. The Rev. Laura Renault will be officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service.

Janet was born February 26th, 1941, in Clinton, the daughter of Theodore and Violet (Turner) Chapman. Janet married Gilbert Thompson June 7th 1958 at First Congregational Church in Clinton. Janet worked at GE in Morrison, Illinois, she also worked for Thompson Electric in the office, and she also worked at Jewel Osco in Clinton. She was a member of First Congregational Church, women of the Moose, Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, card club, and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan (Dennis) Dodds of Maquoketa, Julie (Jim) Bobitt of Forsyth, Illinois; one son, Roy Janice Thompson of Clinton; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews; three sisters, Jackie (Tom) Baughman of Clinton, Sherry Hereid of Clinton, Vickie (Tom) Varner of Montana; and four brothers, Alfred (Joan) Chapman of Knoxville Iowa, Bruce Chapman of Wisconsin, Terry Chapman of Clinton, Mike (Peggy) Chapman of Clinton.

Preceded by her parents, husband, grandparents, one sister and one brother.
