Area postponements, cancellations

• The Jennie C. Rose funeral has been postponed to 2 p.m. Thursday. The service will still take place at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Fulton, Ill.

• The Prince of Peace vs. Northeast basketball game is postponed to Monday, Dec. 14.

• The Unity Christian basketball game is postponed to Thursday.

• The West Carroll Christmas concert for Tuesday has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

• Solid waste and recycling collection for the city of Clinton on Wednesday has been canceled. Wednesday's route will be collected Thursday, while Thursday's route will be collected Friday and Friday's route will be collected Saturday. For more information, contact the Clinton Public Works Department at 242-0261.

• The Clinton boys basketball game against Dubuque Senior has been postponed until 1 p.m. Jan. 2, 2010.

• The Clinton girls basketball game against North Scott is rescheduled for 5 p.m. Dec. 12.

• The Clinton boys swim meet against Dubuque Senior is rescheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 22.

• The Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that the Jingle Bell Jam event, originally set for Wednesday, Dec. 9, has been rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 11, from 5 until 7 p.m. The annual Chamber event is the largest holiday event of the season and is held in conjunction with the Symphony of Lights. The Symphony of Lights display will also be closed that evening.

• The Central DeWitt vs. Maquoketa girls/boys basketball doubleheader is postponed until Tuesday, Dec. 22.

• The Clinton City Council has postponed its meeting to 2 p.m. Thursday.

• The Clinton County Conservation Board has postponed its meeting to 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at the County Conservation Board Office, Grand Mound.
