Cadogan Chiropractic is in new hands

CLINTON — After 20 years of practice, Dr. Brian Cadogan has sold his practice due to a severe arthritic condition.

Cadogan was pleased to be able to sell Cadogan Chiropractic to a longtime friend, Dr. Jason Maring, on June 9.

In a letter to his patients, Cadogan stated, “It is hard to believe that 20 years have passed since starting the practice on North Second Street here in Clinton. As many of you already know, over the last few years, I have had increasing physical problems as a result of a severe arthritic condition. After considerable thought, I made a difficult decision to retire. I have spent considerable time finding a suitable successor.

“As of June 9th, 2008, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Jason Maring took over the practice. I feel he has excellent qualifications, as well as experience to continue with high-quality health care to all of you. Your records will be retained by Dr. Maring, and our chiropractic team of Dr. Steve Rylander, Michelle, Tracy, Kim, Ken and Lorraine will remain in the practice.

“My wife Lisa and I want to thank all of you for the opportunity to be part of your healthcare team. It has been a great joy to be your chiropractor and I will miss you and doing what I loved for all these years.”

Maring graduated from Palmer College in 2002, and recently sold his practice in Moline, Ill., to come to Clinton. He will continue to offer the same services currently offered at Cadogan Chiropractic, including both the Pulstar adjusting instrument, which offers a gentle approach to chiropractic, as well as spinal decompression, a successful non-surgical approach to low back pain. Both of these services are exclusive to the Clinton area.

Maring stated in his own release that he and his wife Angela “have enjoyed getting to know many of you and look forward to getting to know the Clinton community. We want to express our thanks to the community for their support and we will be looking for opportunities to give back to the community.” Maring added he plans to “continue with the same quality care that Dr. Cadogan has provided over the years.”

Maring and his wife have two children — 5-year-old daughter Gillian and 6-month-old son Aidan. In his spare time, Maring enjoys golf, reading and volunteering in the community.

As an example, the practice reported Cadogan Chiropractic recently provided school physicals in exchange for $10 in school supplies. The drive was deemed a success — staff was able to collect $955 in school supplies, exceeding last year’s effort, and the proceeds were donated to Community Action of Eastern Iowa. “We were excited to be able to help support children educational needs,” said Angela Maring, practice office manager.

Cadogan Chiropractic is located at 1721 N. Second St., Clinton; clinic hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. For an appointment, call 242-5515.
