Me Two Gifts to hold grand opening Saturday
CLINTON — Me Two Gifts and J&Z; Retail, 134 Fifth Ave. South, will be holding a grand opening celebration. Gaye Lynn Todtz, one of the owners of the businesses, encourages people to come out for the opening.
Todtz said she and her sister, Joy (Jodi) A. Mangler, began Me Two Gifts in the spring of 2008. She said Mangler, who had a tavern on Camanche Avenue for more than 20 years, and herself were both looking for new careers and decided to go into business together. Todtz said they were looking online when they found the World of Products line and decided they would like to sell these products. They have been selling the various items through catalogues and online at www.metwogifts.com since then.
“Most of our merchandise, I’m impressed with it and I’m not easily impressed,” said Todtz.
The World of Products line consists of a variety of catalogues, including the primary large book, the Christmas catalogue and the new Wings of Devotion catalogue. Todtz said the line includes unique home decor items, garden supplies and other odds and ends.
Todtz and Mangler decided almost nine months ago that they would like to expand their online business and have an actual retail store with a selection of the products. People visiting the store can choose from the selection available or look for more items in their catalogues. Also, people ordering items online can pick them up at the store or have it delivered to their home. Todtz said they ship items anywhere in the continental United States with a 100 percent guarantee that if anything is broken or damaged it will be replaced.
Along with the Me Two Gifts products, the store will also feature crafts and items from other local businesses and individuals. J&Z; retail, primarily managed by Mangler, will rent space in the store to individuals with items to sell. Renting will be done in three-month periods. The store currently has a selection of cutting boards, Avon products, homemade cards and notepads and stained glass from various individuals. The back of the store has Second Stage’s children’s selection.
Todtz said Me Two Gifts is truly a family affair. Not only are she and her sister working in the store, but so is their mother, Earlene F. Todtz. The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Saturday.
The grand opening will be Saturday, Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A drawing will be held at the end of the day for a fountain. Todtz said they would have a promotion for people to buy two items and get one free in the store or buy three items and get one free on the Web site. Todtz said they have a good amount of terrific products and she hopes people come and give the store a chance.
