Clinton city administrator denies speculation

CLINTON — City Administrator Jeff Horne’s absence at Thursday’s sewer meeting sparked speculation that he had been let go from the city. Horne stemmed those rumors on Friday, stating he had not been let go.

“I am taking vacation time to deal with a personal issue,” Horne said.

Clinton Mayor Mark Vulich confirmed that there have not been any conversations about Horne’s employment and none are planned.

Horne said he is confident in the ability of Finance Director Jessica Kinser and City Engineer Jason Craft to manage city matters in his absence.

Horne anticipates he will return before the end of the month, but did not have an exact date.
