• The Clintonish Knitters meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Friday
• The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center will host two events Friday.
Elizabeth Hopkins will visit the center for Fun Time Friday at 10 a.m. to talk about the “Colors of Love.” Children will learn many ways to use colors through literacy activities, songs, finger plays and more. Children also will turn recyclables into crafts followed by a rainbow toast.
Fun Time Friday is a program designed for the learning and developmental needs of preschoolers and toddlers. Children attend with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver on a drop-in basis without pre-registration.
Later that night, Family Date Night will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. This monthly event offers families a time to learn, explore and play at the center. Friday night’s theme will be “Home is Where the Heart is.”
A light meal will be served, to go along with puppet shows, music, inflatable, crafts and more. The cost is $5 per person; $2 per member and free for children 1 and younger.
Saturday
• Clinton Community College will celebrate the 32nd annual B-rrry Scurry 4-mile race.
All participants receive a race shirt, have their names listed in the Clinton Herald, are eligible for door prizes, free refreshments, and entry into the post-race party at a local establishment.
Special medallions bearing the image of B-rrry Bear, the official race mascot, are presented in 13 age divisions for men and women. The B-rrry Challenge encourages area organizations to get involved while competing for the top award. Participants include the name of their Challenge Team on the registration form.
People need to be registered by midnight Thursday to receive an accurate time using the latest disposable chip timing and have a name and time printed in the Clinton Herald newspaper. Sunday
• Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat, 2664 145th Ave., in Wheatland will host a Taize’ Vigil Service at 5 p.m.
The leader is Sister Kathleen Storms. Taizé is an ecumenical movement, drawing Christians of all denominations together in unified prayer. Friends of the Prairie and churches of all faith traditions in the area are being invited to participate.
Future services will be held the first Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. followed by a soup supper. Free-will donations will be accepted.
Feb. 6
• Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat, 2664 145th Ave., in Wheatland, will host a mini-retreat on Scriptures on avoiding excessive worry from 10 a.m. to noon.
The leader is Father Bill Kneemiller. Cost is $8.
Feb. 11
• The Volunteer Millers at de Immigrant windmill in Fulton, Ill., will host their second program at 6 p.m. at the Windmill Cultural Center, 111 10th Ave.
Jim Rutenbeck will present “Stargazing Along the Lincoln Highway.” This presentation will include information about the solar system, galaxies, and the objects in the night sky observable in the area.

• All couples who have been married for more than 40 years are invited to attend a special Valentine’s Day meal at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Big Meadows Nursing Home, 1000 Longmoor Ave. in Savanna, Ill.
