The Gateway Area Chapter of the Red Cross will offer life-saving classes this month.
Classes will include CPR/AED training, first aid and babysitter courses.
The first aid and CPR/AED course teaches participants how to perform CPR and use an AED, what to do if someone is choking, and how to prevent and respond to other emergencies until advanced medical help arrives.
Course participants also learn how to control bleeding as well as how to care for seizures and other sudden illnesses.
Adult and pediatric CPR/AED review will be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20. An adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED review will be held from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Dec. 20.
CPR/AED for professional rescuers and health care providers will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Babysitter’s training will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27.
All classes will be held at the Gateway chapter office, 1220 13th Ave. North.
Red Cross training courses meet OSHA guidelines, feature hands-on skills practice and include two-year certifications, free digital materials and skill refreshers.
