Stolen python mysteriously returned

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A 16-foot albino Burmese Python named Banana that was taken from a home several months has reappeared.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office got a call over the weekend with a report of a “large yellow snake” in a driveway.

Gary Saurage, the snake’s owner, said Banana, who had been missing since April 30, was in “gorgeous shape.”

Saurage had no idea why someone would take a 16-foot snake, let alone return it. “The whole thing is a mystery to us,” he said. “I’m just glad to have her back.”
