CORBIN, Ky. —
A woman appeared in a Kentucky circuit court this week facing charges of swapping her newborn son for a pickup truck and drugs.
Heather A. Kaminsky, 31, had been charged with human trafficking and unlawful possession of a methamphetamine precursor. But in court, she pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of endangerment of the welfare of a minor.
Last summer, a confidential source tipped the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department to the trade, which involved a 1999 silver Dodge Dakota. Kaminsky later sold the truck for $800 and some methamphetamine.
The baby boy was found in good health at a home near Corbin. He was subsequently removed by a judge’s order.
Kaminsky will be sentenced later this month.
