The growing of the corn maze is on schedule at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center and will be open to the public each Saturday and Sunday, from Oct. 6 to Oct. 28.
The Ohnward Fine Arts Center corn maze began as an idea to bring the community together to provide a safe, family-friendly environment for creating memories. Scattered throughout the many passageways of the maze are checkpoints with questions about local history, agriculture and local geography. Those interested in a different event can visit the maze from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 27.
The maze is located at 1215 E. Platt St. in Maquoketa, on U.S. 64, across the street from the Jackson County fairgrounds.
Tickets are $5 for ages 14 and older and $3 for ages 5 to 13. The event is open from noon to 5 p.m., with tickets sold until 4 p.m. Children younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
