CLINTON —
The second annual Lumberjack Festival brought more than 1,000 people from as far away as California to watch professional lumberjacks compete on Saturday.
The event, hosted by the Sawmill Heritage Museum, showcased professional lumberjacks from across the U.S. and the world.
During what turned out to be another blistering afternoon, onlookers watched as the lumberjacks competed in events like the jack and jill saw in which a man and woman compete against other teams to saw as quickly as possible through a 20-inch log, and underhand chop, in which the competitor chops halfway through a log, turns around, and then chops through the other half to completely sever the log while they stand on top of it.
The event also featured a bags tournament, food, woodcarvers, a chainsaw artist and rides on the Sawmill Museum’s trackless train.
