FULTON, Ill. —
Kayla Field, 27, of Fulton, likes to help people when she can.
Kayla is originally from Fulton. Since October, she has been volunteering at the River Bend Senior Center. However, volunteering her time can be difficult due to her own disabilities.
Kayla is hard of hearing and also has arthritis and other disabilities. She graduated from the Illinois School for the Deaf in 2004.
Kayla enjoys meeting new people and chatting with them. She decided she wanted to do something to help others.
“I help out when I can because of my disabilities where I’m limited to do some things and I can only work for limited time,” Kayla said in a recent interview. “I help wherever is needed and easy for me to do.”
While volunteering at the senior center, Kayla enjoys playing bingo. She also enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. She also likes to sew when her arthritis allows.
