Peggi Johnson, 50, of Erie, Ill., sees herself as a very down to earth person with great people skills.
“I’m kind of ‘what you see is what you get.’ I’m very, very easy going,” Peggi said.
Peggi enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors with friends and family. Coming from a big family, Peggi said her parents taught her to treat people how she would like to be treated and to embrace diversity.
Peggi uses this attitude in her work with the public by making connections with people. She has worked for several casinos and riverboats. She has worked with Wild Rose Casino and Resort since January; first as a hostess and then as the player development manager. This week was her first full week as marketing manager with Wild Rose.
Peggi is excited to take on this new role. She plans to continue to foster existing relationships and develop new ones in the community. Of the different casinos Peggi has worked in, the Wild Rose is her favorite.
“I’ve worked with many, many great people and great leaders but I’ve never worked with this many in one location,” she said. She added that she had a great set of staff that she gets to work with.
Peggi also said Wild Rose is a great business in the community and is proud of the work it does for members of the community. She is excited that this month 15 percent of the revenue from the gift shop will be donated to Gilda’s Club.
Peggi hopes to manage her time so she can balance the amount spent in her office and the amount spent on the floor or out of the building with her customers. She loves to visit with guests and tries to be open to suggestions and comments.
“But I am approachable and I think they recognize that,” Peggi said. She hopes people feel comfortable speaking with her too.
