THOMSON, Ill. —
Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge will host several bald eagle viewing trips this winter.
Starting this Friday, the group will conduct tours every Friday through March 1. Participants will leave the Ingersoll Wetlands Learning Center at 8 a.m. and travel to various locations along the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge.
The group will return by noon.
There is no fee, but seating is limited. To register, send an email to info@sumriver.org or call the center at (815) 273-2732. The center is located at 7071 Riverview Road in Thomson.
The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge is the most visited refuge in the United States. The refuge extends 261 miles along the Upper Mississippi River from Wabasha, Minn., to Rock Island, Ill., protecting and preserving habitat for migratory birds, fish and a variety of other wildlife.
