Fulton, Morrison golfers qualify for state meet

Rascher, Hoffman advance

ALGONQUIN, Ill. — For the sixth year in a row, Fulton qualified a player to the boys Illinois Class 1A boys golf state meet Monday.

Each year since the golf postseason has been separated into three classes, a Steamer has advanced.

Logan Rascher, a senior, fired an 87 to place seventh out of golfers not on qualifying teams and earn a berth in the state tournament. The top three teams advance and Fulton was fourth, shooting 357, nine strokes behind third-place Freeport Aquin.

North Shore Country Day won with a 313.

Morrison senior Reid Hoffman, the Three Rivers Conference medalist, shot 85 to place fifth among individuals. The Mus-tangs were sixth with a 365.

Last year, Evan Eissens and Kyle Work-man qualified for Fulton. Work-man qualified the two years before that and Jack Hanrahan the two years before that.

Now it’s Rascher’s turn.
