River Bluff Community Foundation’s Caring award nominations are due Oct. 30

CLINTON — Bill and Lois Hall, with their K-9s Decker, a collie, and German shepherd, Hawk, received the River Bluff Community Foundation’s first Caring award.

The Halls received the award with $1,000 going to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Reserve.

Nominations are still being sought for this year’s award. This year’s honorees will be groups of volunteers who have given their time, care and commitment for a cause that makes a difference in area communities.

Sponsors have made two awards available this year, $1000 and $500, to the non-profit or community organization nominating the most caring volunteers.

Nomination forms are due by noon Tuesday and are available on the Iowa Council on Foundations website, by calling 249-1654, on Facebook or the River Bluff Community Foundation, Box 1152, Clinton, IA 52733-1152. The foundation is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend.

A celebration to honor the award-winning volunteers will be held at the Tuscany Room at 5 p.m. Nov. 8.
