CLINTON —
The death of a Clinton Library employee whose body was found at the library last week has been ruled a suicide.
The body of Charles A. Meyer, 78, of Camanche was found in the basement of the library at about 2:45 p.m. Aug. 29 by a library staff member, Clinton Police Sgt. Tom Bohle said.
Clinton County Medical Examiner Dr. Eric Peterson ruled the death was a suicide by hanging.
Funeral services for Meyer were held Tuesday.
City Administrator Jeff Horne confirmed Meyer worked at the library as a custodian and handyman for more than 25 years.
Library Director Amy Birtell could not be reached for comment.
