CLINTON —
A Clinton man pleaded guilty to charges related to the destruction of an acquaintances’ car windows.
Joseph S. Mussman, 39, 2108 McKinley St., was sentenced to 120 days in the Clinton County jail, with 112 days suspended and credit for eight days served, each to a count of third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree criminal mischief. The sentences will run concurrently. He was fined $615 and $315 and is required to finish anger management.
According to an affidavit, Mussman was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the Walgreen’s parking lot at 6:40 p.m. Nov. 29. Bobbie Hartson told the officer that he was sitting in a friend’s truck in the 2100 block of McKinley Street to pick up a friend. When his friend came out, he noticed that her boyfriend, Mussman, was following her out.
Hartson stated that Mussman had a hammer and hit three windows, for approximately $600 in damage. Hartson also was hit on the left forearm with the hammer. When police later questioned Mussman at his home, he admitted to breaking the windows with a rock, not a hammer.
A second victim claimed Mussman broke her back passenger-side window for a total of $200 in damages.
A charge of assault was dismissed.
