MORRISON, Ill. —
A Morrison woman was injured following a one-car accident Sunday morning in rural Morrison.
Whiteside County sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday on Crosby Road, one-quarter mile north of Bunker Hill Road.
According to police, a 1991 Ford Explorer driven by Jacque L. McCallister, 25, of Morrison was traveling south on Crosby Road when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Her vehicle subsequently caught on fire, police said.
McCallister was rescued from the vehicle by a passerby before emergency responders arrived.
She was transported to Morrison Hospital by Morrison ambulance then transported to St. Anthony’s hospital in Rockford, Ill.
The Morrison Police Department, Prophetstown Ambulance, MedForce Helicopter and the Illinois Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department.
