CLINTON —
Here is the Clinton County Sheriff's Office release that we received Friday night at the Herald: On August 3, 2012, at 11:40 a.m. the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two vehicle accident in front of 1172 Hwy 67, rural Clinton. Upon arrival officers found a southbound passenger car, a blue 1998 Saturn, had collided head on with a northbound, white 1998 International, semi tractor trailer. The deputies located three occupants in the passenger car. All three occupants were declared deceased at the scene by investigators from the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s office. The driver of the semi, Jeff Rogis of Miles, was not injured in the accident. Names of the victims are being with held pending notification of family.
The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and the State of Iowa Medical Examiner's Office. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Motor Vehicle Enforcement, the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office, Andover Fire Department, Andover Ambulance, Sabula Police Department, and the Department of Transportation maintenance department.
