CLINTON —
The Clinton Police Department responded to a welfare check Saturday, and upon arrival, discovered the body of a dead adult male.
Officers were dispatched to 3022 Pershing Blvd. at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, and discovered the man in the 3000 block alley between Pershing Boulevard and Cleveland Street. Police are saying the man died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police blocked off the alley between Cleveland and Pershing, and 30th and 31st Avenue North, during the incident. Six squad cars and one ambulance also were at the scene.
The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of family. The Herald also does not publish the names of victims of self-inflicted gunshots.
The case remains under investigation by the Clinton Police Department and the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s office.
