CLINTON —
Fundraising is under way for the annual United Way fall campaign.
Businesses and individuals will begin planning for the campaign on Thursday at a special kick-off event.
Several local businesses have already received materials to start helping the non-profit organization.
Misty Nixon and Nikki Hardin with Data Dimensions accepted United Way campaign materials from Gary Poskin, United Way volunteer, and Brent Andresen, United Way Board president, to begin preparations for their employee campaign.
United Way of Clinton County, Iowa will begin its annual fall campaign on Thursday with a kickoff training/lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wild Rose Casino and Resort. United Way has set a $600,000 goal for the campaign to address identified health and human service needs in Camanche, Clinton, DeWitt and the surrounding areas. More than 20,000 individuals and families are helped annually.
Currently,16 people on the campaign committee and more than 50 individuals are signed up to attend the event next week.
“We ask companies to give to the cause through the end of December,” Executive Director Cheryl McCulloh said. “We provide information and materials for large industries and companies throughout Camanche, Clinton and DeWitt, along with neighboring communities.”
