CLINTON — A two-vehicle accident occurred on Mill Creek Parkway during Thursday’s storm, leaving one person dead and another injured.
According to a press release from Clinton Police Captain Charles Witt, Clinton police and fire units were dispatched at 1:04 p.m. to the intersection of 13th Avenue North and Mill Creek Parkway for a reported personal injury accident.
According to the report, a 2005 Ford F250 pickup truck, driven by Jeffrey M. Crandall, 19, 2923 Meadowbrook Drive, was northbound on Mill Creek Parkway and approaching the intersection with 13th Avenue North. A 1996 Oldsmobile Delta 88, driven by Marilyn M. Skiff, 77, 2740 13th Ave. North, was traveling west on 13th Avenue North and failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign, proceeding across the parkway, police said.
Crandall’s truck struck Skiff’s car broadside on the driver’s side. Crandall was transported by city ambulance to Mercy North Hospital. Skiff was pronounced dead at the scene by Clinton County Medical Examiner Paul Koob.
The accident remains under investigation by the Traffic Crash Investigation Unit of the Clinton police department.
