CLINTON —
Emergency personnel responded at 12:05 p.m. on Monday to a call of a truck driving into the porch of a Clinton residence.
Clinton Police Sgt. Steve Kopp said Michelle Murphy, 20, 716 Eclipse Lane, was turning right from Main Avenue onto North Third Street, when she accelerated very quickly due to oncoming traffic from the south that had the right of way. Murphy lost control of her 2005 Ford truck, going over the curb and striking the porch of the residence at 2423 N. Third St.
The porch was structurally damaged and Kopp estimated the amount at roughly $1,000. The damage to the truck was estimated at $2,000.
Murphy was transported to Mercy Medical Center North for a possible injury to her neck. No citations were issued.
