Train fatal victim identified

CLINTON — The identity of the Clinton man who was hit by a train Friday night is now known.

A representative from Pape Funeral Home confirmed the person’s identity as Thomas Green, 29, of Clinton.

According to a press release, police responded to the area of the 30th Avenue North boat ramp and the railroad tracks for a report of a train accident involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, the individual was found dead after being struck by the train around 6:45 p.m. near 18th Avenue North and Garfield Street.

Green’s obituary appears in today’s Clinton Herald on page 4A.
