CLINTON —
Archer Daniels Midland Company announced Wednesday the appointment of Dean Brainerd as plant manager for its corn wet mill in Clinton.
Brainerd joined ADM in 1986 and has been Clinton plant superintendent since 2004.
“Dean has been instrumental in leading the Clinton plant’s improvements in safety, production, quality and environmental compliance as well as plant improvement projects including the new cogeneration and feed production facilities,” said Randy Kampfe, vice president, ADM Corn Production. “His knowledge and leadership will help drive ADM’s continued success in Clinton.”
Brainerd replaces Jim Woll who is relocating to ADM’s global headquarters in Decatur, Ill., to serve as regional manager for ADM Corn Production.
The plant managers at ADM’s corn plants in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Brazil, including Brainerd, will report to him. Woll worked at the Clinton plant for nearly 32 years, starting in 1981 as an environmental professional. He was named plant manager in 1994 and has been very active in a number of community roles.
ADM has approximately 1,000 employees in Clinton. The company’s Clinton operations include a corn wet mill, a cogeneration power plant, a grain elevator and barge loading operations.
In Clinton ADM produces corn sweeteners and starches, beverage alcohol, corn oil, enzymes, ethanol, animal feed products and other food ingredients.
