Karen K. Cadogan, 68, of Geneseo, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 12 p.m. (Noon) Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church, Port Byron. The Rev. Don Masterson will officiate. Per her request, cremation rites will be accorded following the service and private inurnment will be Friday in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation for Karen will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (2 hours prior to the service) at the church in Port Byron. Memorials may be left to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Vandemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
Karen was born November 4, 1944, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Herbert and Kathryn Mason. She was a 1963 graduate of Clinton High School. Karen was united in marriage to Daniel L. Cadogan on March 4, 1981, in Camanche, IA. She was a homemaker in her own home. Karen was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Port Byron, IL, and a former member of the Red Hat Society. She was very artistic and was an artist at oil painting and charcoal drawing and calligraphy.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel; 1 son, Trent (Eileen) Cadogan of Boise, ID; 1 daughter, Jennifer (Larry) Meyers of Washington, IL; 5 granddaughters: Samantha, Janelle, Kathryn, Tracie and Tori; 1 brother, Keith Mason of Chicago, IL; and 2 sisters, Kendra Kampling of Urbandale, IA, and Kim Wallace of Clinton, IA.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
