Elsbeth A. “Tootie” Powell, 80, of Lewisville, TX died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Medical Center of Lewisville. Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services.
Elsbeth was born May 20, 1932 in Monroe, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jacob A. Strahm and Anna Louise Strahm. She was a 1950 graduate of Shullsburg High School, Wisconsin. She married Jack E. Powell on March 10, 1951 and they were married 37 years until his passing May 25, 1988.
She was a resident of Clinton, IA for 40 years before moving to Texas to be with her children and grandchildren. She was employed at Machael’s Coffee Shop in Clinton and at General Electric, Morrison.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Alme of Plano, TX and her son, Gary Powell, Lewisville, TX, two grandchildren, one great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings.
