CLINTON —
Christopher J. “Chris” Sweely, age 40, of Clinton, died Saturday Dec. 1, 2012 at his home after battling a long term illness.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4th, at the Greenview Memorial Garden Cemetery in Silvis, IL. Visitation will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. until noon at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Chris was born on Jan. 14, 1972 in Geneseo, IL, the son of Lee and Rebecca (Moore) Sweely, Jr.
He married Rena Hepner on Aug. 23, 1991 in Colona, IL. Chris worked as a parts salesman at an automotive center. He enjoyed collecting Star Trek and NASCAR memorabilia. He also loved to bowl with his wife Rena.
Chris is survived by his wife, Rena Sweely of Clinton; his father, Lee Sweely; his adoptive parents, Roger and Cindy Rupp; three brothers, Corey (Jennifer) Sweely, Jeremy (Leah) Sweely, and Kenneth Sweely; five sisters, Jennifer (Kevin) Rose, Donna (Craig) Banowetz, Sandee (Greg) Petry, Angie (Jess) McLane, and Lindsay Alexander; his grandmother, Lillian Moore; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca, a son, Christopher Jr., his mother, Rebecca (Moore) Schoenfeld, and grandparents, Lee and Viola Sweely Sr.
