CLINTON —
Victor E. Vath, 59, of Clinton, Iowa, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Services will be held at Saint Paul Lutheran Church on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig on Monday, January 14, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary, Jeff, Tony and Curt Vath and Keith Kalaukoa and Eric Plaut.
Victor was born September 17, 1953, in Clinton, the son of Elmer and Sara (Babcock) Vath. Victor was educated in the Bruce Fowler Schools. He had been employed at the Skyline Center from 1972 until 2011.
Victor was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church. He was very active in the Special Olympics and had lived at the L’ARCHE (The Arch) community for over 31 years.
Survivors include brothers, Dennis (Sheila) Vath of Duluth, MN, and David (Mary) Fergesen of Hillsborough, NJ; sister, Virginia (Joe) Zimmer of Boise, ID; his entire L’ARCHE family; and several nieces and nephews.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Arch or Clinton County Special Olympics.
