CLINTON —
Wayne Olsen, 77, of Clinton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, August 1st, 2012.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4th, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (West side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wayne was born June 30th, 1935, in Elk Horn, Iowa, the son of Edward and Nellie (Madsen) Olsen. Wayne married Beverly Lange in June 1953; they later divorced. Wayne married Nancy Knight on December 17th, 1976 in Clinton, Iowa.
Wayne worked for 20+ years as an Electrician, and retired working for his son Darwin.
Wayne loved playing poker with his family. He also enjoyed playing the lottery, reading books, and loved afternoon rides.
Wayne is survived by one daughter - Trudy (Robert) Dalton of Clinton; two sons - Darwin Olsen of Fulton, Russell Olsen of Clinton, two step children - Annie Carstensen of Clinton, IA., Dennis Carstensen of Clinton; six grandchildren - Rebecca (John) Willett of Rock Falls, Ill., Kristin (Andy) Kuehl of Clinton, IA., Kelly (Nate) Olson of Calamus, IA., Kathleen (Josh) Philpott of LeClaire, IA., Tracie (Kristi) Olsen-McAllister of Somonauk, IL., David Olsen of Fulton, Ill.; many great grandchildren; one brother - Jim (Dee) Olsen of Atlantic, IA., he was fond of all of his nieces and nephews, and very special friend and caretaker Marie Sturtz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy and one grandson - Randy.
