Brian C. Sedivy, age 24, of Savanna, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at his home in Savanna.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Brian’s memory. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lawjonesfuneralhome.com.
Brian was born on January 3, 1988, the son of Charles and Pamela (Anderson) Sedivy in Clinton, Iowa. When Brian was younger he enjoyed spending summers in Hanover, Illinois, helping with the family garden. Brian was raised in Savanna and graduated from Savanna High School with the class of 2006. After graduation, Brian worked as an engineer on Artco Fleeting river barges for Archer Daniels Midland Company (A.D.M.) in St. Louis, Missouri. He loved his job and being on the river. He was a quiet person who liked taking things apart and tinkering with them. He enjoyed trying to understand how things worked. Most of all, Brian loved the outdoors, especially fishing with his brother, Charlie.
Brian will be dearly missed by his mother, Pam (Allen) Belk of Savanna; his father, Chuck (Kerry) Sedivy of Hanover; one brother, Charlie (JoAnne Collins) Sedivy of Savanna; one sister, Megan (Marc Irvin) Sedivy of Savanna; a stepbrother, Josh Trebian of Galena; a stepsister, Amanda (Zack) Haggerty of DeForest, Wisconsin; one niece, Jaelynn Irvin; one nephew, Damian Sedivy; a maternal grandfather, Robert (Barb) Anderson of Savanna; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
