Barbara B. Hand, 86, of Fulton, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at Amanda’s Care Home, Mesa, AZ.
She was born on October 20, 1926, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Calvin and Helen (Matthews) Schumaker. She married LaVerne Vogel. He died. She married Thomas J. Hand on March 15, 1989, in Fulton. She worked as a cosmetologist for 42 years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fulton.
Surviving is her husband, Tom; two sons, Mark (Cathy) Vogel of LeClaire, IA, and James Vogel of Fulton; three stepchildren, Mike (Karen) Hand of Fulton, Peggy Hand of Prescott Valley, AZ, and James J. Hand of Fulton; one sister-in-law, Rosalie Bellich of Thomson, IL; 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marjorie Bower; a stepdaughter, Jean hand.
Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2013, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1601 16th Avenue in Fulton. Followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Albany, with the Reverend David Austin, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Fulton.
A memorial will be established.
