Edwina M. “Wina” Sill, age 79, of East Moline, formerly of Clinton, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012, at Christ Episcopal Church in Clinton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Greg Sill, David Sill II, Grace Meinhardt and Mike Healless.
Wina was born in Clinton on November 30, 1932, the daughter of Edward and Alberta (Gundelfinger) Milder. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1950. She married Delbert Sill on January 26, 1952, in Clinton. They later divorced. Wina was employed with Machael Oil Company, J.C. Penny in both Clinton and Moline and at Kmart in Moline for 20 years. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Moline. Wina volunteered with Befrienders, Hospice, as an after school reading tutor and had donated twice to Locks of Love. Family was the most important part of her life as she enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities as well as quilting, quilling, tatting, knitting and embroidering,
Wina is survived by four children: Diane (Larry) Littig of Moline, Linda Barnett (Joe Lindemann) of Silvis, David W. (Cindy) Sill of Rock Island and Andrew L. (Jean) Sill of Moline; 8 grandchildren: Tammy, Sandy, Angela, Kenneth, Sarah, David II, Greg and Grace; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Miriam Healless of Clinton.
