John A. McCune, age 92, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Eagle Point Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Christ Episcopal Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
John was born in Clinton on April 23, 1920, the son of Earl and Marie (Sorensen) McCune. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. John was employed at Mercy Hospital in Clinton. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Disabled American Veterans. John enjoyed fishing and following the Cubs and Hawkeyes. John, who never owned a car, was an avid Harley Davidson rider.
John is survived by a sister, Elsie Jensen of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lillian and Marjorie; and one brother, Donald.
