Barry A. Legel, age 51, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Fulton, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013, in Tulsa.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in the Argo Fay Cemetery, Argo Fay, Ill.
Barry was born in Savanna on July 30, 1961, the son of Richard and Beverly (Koser) Legel. He was a supervisor for B&H construction. He was passionate about his work and cared very much for the guys that worked for him. He was fair with people and treated them with respect. He loved to travel and dreamed about going to Alaska and Australia. He enjoyed all sports, especially following the Chicago Bears, playing the lottery every week and fishing.
Barry is survived by a son, Richard Hastings of Louisiana; his stepfather, Richard (Betty) Borgman of Fulton; his grandfather, Jean Borgman of Fulton; two sisters, Christine (Mike) Herch of Clinton and Casey (Jason) Feller of Eldridge; aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eric, in infancy; and a brother, Richard Jr.
