AREA OFFICIALS: A thankful community
The Clinton Herald posed the question, “What are you most thankful for?” to several area officials. Each day this week, we will feature responses to that question in anticipation of Thanksgiving on Thursday.
Mark Vulich, City of Clinton mayor“I am thankful for my family, my health and my family’s health and the time to relax and enjoy the holidays with them.” Larry Russell, City of Fulton, Ill., mayor“We can be truly at peace this holiday season if we are assured that each of our neighbors is with loved ones or alone only by their own choice. “As families scatter to all parts of the globe, let us be thankful for living in a community where each of us take the time to get to know our neighbors.” Don Thiltgen, City of DeWitt mayor"For a Happy life, want what you have; I have good health, a great family and a great community as they are also my family." Mike Wolf, Clinton County attorney
“Personally, I am thankful to be truly blessed with an incredible family, friends and people who help me. Professionally, Clinton County's people are what I am thankful for. They have given my office the sacred trust to serve their justice interests in the practical day-to-day application of our laws; to be their voice in the prosecution of trials; to be an advocate for the victims of crime; and to be fair and accountable. Justin Shaffer, Camanche Middle School principal“I am thankful for my family, friends, and the opportunity to lead the teachers and students at Camanche Middle School.” Brian Schmidt, Clinton County Board of Supervisors chairman“I am thankful for the liberty God has endowed us with, and the men and women who serve to preserve it in the past, and maintain today.” Nancy Kolk, Windmill Cultural Center educator“I am thankful the mind is still good enough to keep asking questions.” |
