Reader unhappy with franchise fee language

CLINTON — In response to the article in last week’s paper on this so-called franchise fee on our Alliant bill:

I have several concerns as I am sure a lot of people do.

First and foremost you have got to be kidding me. Do you really think we are going to believe that this is just a clause in the contract that is only going to be there if needed?

What kind of idiots do you take us for?

I give this less than a year and you will implement it without so much as a second thought. What gives this city the right to take money from us for something you have not supplied to us? You just keep finding ways to take more from us and expect us to bend over for more.

When this gets put on our monthly bill, and I'm sure you people will find some kind of stupid reason to put it there, I hope you can sleep at night knowing how you found another way to rip us off again. It’s pretty obvious you people don’t get it so maybe it’s time we gave it to you come next election time.

Ron Wynkoop,

Clinton
