CLINTON —
The East Central School District has been divided now for two years.
On Sept. 11, it will be decided.
The facts are simple. Whole Grade Sharing was the best option two years ago, and is still the best option. Educational opportunities have always been the first and most important priority of the former boards, and the majority of the current board. The kids have to come first. The East Central kids deserve to have the best education, the most opportunities, in the best facilities available. This is what Northeast offers.
Northeast offers more class options, more sports opportunities, and fine arts programs, all at one site.
The Northeast School Board, administration, teachers, staff, parents, and students have gone above and beyond to make the EC kids’ transition an easy one.
It was a great year, for the first year of WGS. Better than anyone expected.
FACT: East Central does not need to merge with anyone. With WGS we will make money this year, (by greatly reducing expenditures associated with educating seventh- through 12th-grade students at EC)!! Even with the number of open enrolled out from last year to Preston, we will make money.
Think of the opportunities for the EC pre-K-sixth grade classes, where we have more money every year to spend on what the kids need.
Think of how much more we could have made with the open enrolled students back at EC.
The East Central Board looked to the future, three years ago, for the very best options for our kids. It was WGS. In the first year, it proved to do be just that.
When you vote on Sept. 11, please put the kids first. Base your vote on facts, not on rumors, emotions, or friendships.
Think to the future. Don’t take two steps back. Our kids deserve and need the best we can give them. Think about the EC district. Our taxes have been consistently low and with WGS making money, will stay low. Don’t base your vote on somebody else’s “dream.”
Please vote no on Sept. 11 for the future of our kids and our district.
