CLINTON —
Yesterday I went to the St. Irenaeus Cultural Center to view the Fallen Heroes exhibit.
This is a traveling display honoring the 80 members of the military from Iowa who have been killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
There are pictures of each of them with a brief biography and how they were killed.
I was especially inspired when I noted that all of these men and women had volunteered to serve their country.
I was also saddened to note how young many of them were. They had so much to live for.
This exhibit will be at the Cultural Center every day until next Monday when there will be a closing ceremony.
It is open every day from 1 to 8 p.m. I urge everyone to take the time to visit this extraordinary exhibit.
