WYOMING —
After picking up his first victory of the season last Thursday by almost a minute, Northeast’s Eli Kaczinksi grabbed his second on Tuesday. This time by 1 minute, 3 seconds.
Led by Kaczinski, Northeast won the boys team title with 32 points. Marquette Catholic was second in the seven-team meet with 47 points.
Northeast made it a sweep in the varsity team races as its girls team beat Marquette Catholic 36-47 for the title.
Kaczinski finished in 16 minutes, 38 seconds. Andrew Meyer of Bellevue (17:41), Danny Schroeder of Marquette Catholic (17:53), Connor Soenksen of Northeast (18:16) and Logan Peterson of Camanche (18:17) rounded out the top five.
Sarah Lampe of Marquette Catholic was the individual champion in 16:05, finishing 19 seconds ahead of Northeast’s Emily Franks. Jackie Kokjohn of Prince of Peace claimed third place in 16:29, with Marquette teammates Theresa Koos (16:34) and Katherine Herrig (16:46) rounding out the top five. Northeast claimed three of the next four spots, with Nicole Nielsen of Camanche breaking up the run of Rebels with an eighth-place finish in 17:05.
