Early lead holds up, Grayhounds beat River Kings

BURLINGTON — Burlington scored the first six points of the game and Clinton never was able to pull even in a 48-36 loss in Mississippi Athletic Conference boys basketball Friday night.

Justin Randall scored 13 of his game-high 21 points in the first half, leading the Grayhounds (1-2, 1-0 MAC) to a 26-14 lead.

Led by junior Jalen Jones (20 points), the River Kings battled back in the second half. They pulled within five points late in the fourth quarter, but Brandon Mosena (15 points) nailed a 3-point basket and the Grayhounds pushed the lead back into double digits in the final minute.
