CLINTON —
Clinton High School graduate Amanda Kristensen will play soccer for Scott Community College this fall.
During the club soccer season, Scott coach Jeremy Miller approached Kristensen about playing for him once she finished her career with the River Queens.
“I was kind of iffy at first,” she said. “I was thinking about just going to CCC (Clinton Community College) and staying in town. But I’m going to take on-line classes with them and just go down for games and practices.”
Kristensen said she was going to use the next two years while at community college to decide what she wanted to study.
“Until I’m actually sure, I’d rather stay around town,” she said. “I’m going to make sure I’m going into the right field.”
She said she didn’t know where she’d be playing but expected it to be defense or midfield.
Kristensen scored one goal for Clinton this season and tied for the team lead with three assists while spending most of her time at center midfielder.
