CLINTON —
The man selected to lead the search for the next city administrator will present his plans to Clinton City Council members on Tuesday.
Paul Greufe, of Paul J. Greufe and Associates, will attend the Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday night with details regarding the timeline, structure and method he plans to use to hire the next city leader in tow.
Greufe’s method begins with a compensation review from Jan. 14 to 28. During the same time period, he anticipates the initial meeting with the selection committee will occur. He has that committee pegged to consist of City Council members, city staff and Clinton citizens.
The job would be posted on Jan. 25 with an application deadline of March 1. From the end of January through February, Greufe also plans to conduct active recruiting.
Once applications are received, the review and rankings will begin. Possible phone and Skype interviews would take place during March.
The finalists would visit Clinton for an on-site interview with the City Council in April and a job offer would be made by April 19.
Greufe’s services would cost the city $21,875. The city would need to provide $10,000 up front once the contract is signed and the remaining amount once the work has been completed.
The council voted 4-2 in December to hire Greufe to find the replacement for former City Administrator Jeff Horne, who resigned at the request of the council in November.
Mayor Mark Vulich did not sign the resolution to hire Greufe in order to make it effective immediately following the council’s vote. Instead, the resolution went into effect 14 days after it was passed.
