CLINTON —
Low revenue and admissions are being felt by the Wild Rose Casino and Resort.
The casino experienced a decrease of almost $325,000 in revenue during October. During this week’s Clinton County Development Association meeting, Wild Rose Casino and Resort Controller Gus Linke said revenues went down almost 10 percent from last year, settling at approximately $3.028 million. Admissions also decreased by almost 10 percent.
Wild Rose General Manager Tim Bollmann said that September was a poor month for gaming in Iowa and Wild Rose in particular. Linke said that year-to-date, revenues at the casino are down 3.9 percent and admissions are down 8 percent. Linke added the state of Iowa is down a little less than 2 percent for a little less than $2.2 million in gaming revenues. This region has seen a decline of less than 4 percent or $1.2 million.
“This area has just been soft for this year really,” Linke said. “We’re continuing to pluck away at things.”
Linke forecasted they will see similar trends with no dramatic increases in 2013.
