CCC dedicates wall for veterans

CLINTON — Veterans young and old are making their mark at Clinton Community College.

The Student Veterans Association held a special dedication for the Wall of Honor on Monday.

“We’re excited to have a wall to recognize current student veterans and alumni who are past veterans,” Clinton Community College President Karen Vickers said. “I’m proud of all the hard work this group has put into such an important tribute.”

The Wall of Honor is a tribute to honor, respect and remember the many sacrifices the nation's men and women endure while serving in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and National Guard. The display contains a plaque listing the name, branch of service and service dates for all active duty and veteran students, faculty and alumni of CCC.

Student Senate worked on the tribute for five years with help from the Veterans Association. Students and veterans of all ages, worked together to make the project possible.

When J.J. Abrams took over the "Star Trek" franchise in 2009, he boldly went where the series hadn't gone before — romantically — pairing Uhura with Spock. Many fans disliked the change. Some loved it. Others didn't care, because they just wanted to see Kirk and Spock make out.
