UPDATE: Police identify man who was shot

CLINTON —

Clinton police have identified the man who sustained a gunshot wound in Clinton on Thursday night.

When police and fire crews responded to a report of a subject who had been shot at 2507 Garfield St., they located Calvin Phelps, 21, of Clinton, with a gunshot wound, according to Clinton Police Captain Tom Bohle.

Phelps was transported to Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries, and was released from the hospital today, police said.

Phelps did not provide a description of the shooter.

The case remains under investigation by the Clinton Police Department. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Clinton Police Department at 243-1458 or Clinton County CrimeStoppers at 1-888-883-8015.

UPDATED - 9 a.m.: Clinton police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Clinton Thursday night.

Clinton police were called at 7:46 p.m. Thursday to 2507 Garfield St. on a report that someone had been shot.

The victim is a 21-year-old male, police said. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Clinton and is being treated for a gunshot wound.

The victim's condition was not available early Friday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 243-1458 or Clinton County Crimestoppers at 1-888-883-8015.

The victim is a 21-year-old male, police said. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Clinton and is being treated for a gunshot wound. The victim's condition is unknown at the current time.
