Share your favorite holiday photos

After tomorrow, the Christmas season is officially kicking off. But what's the harm in getting started a little early?

To get in the spirit of the season, we're asking you to submit your holiday photos to us each week leading up to Christmas. We will choose one or more of our favorites to feature in our print and digital products.

Submit your pictures on our photo sharing site, SmugMug. Make sure to include your name and an explanation of who/what is in the photo and where and when it was taken. Photos will then appear in the holiday gallery.

Themes are a follows:

Week 1 (Nov. 20-26): Past holiday photos

Week 2 (Nov. 27-Dec. 3): Holiday pet photos

Week 3 (Dec. 4-10): Holiday kid photos

Week 4 (Dec. 11-17): Holiday scenes/decorations

Week 5 (Dec. 18-24): Presents, parties and celebrations

To get things started, I have added a few photos from last year's Christmas in the Herald newsroom. The first photo shows Lifestyle Editor Angie Bicker and myself dressed as "reporter elves" for the holiday twins contest. The other two show some of our decorations around the office.
